(As always, this and all our regular episodes are available free on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube Music, YouTube, and other podcast locales. If you are a paid subscriber, you get the ads-removed version right here. )
The next installment of our Season 3 miniseries is out, and after drowning our ears in AI-hosted podcasts in the first episode, we’ve turned to exploring who or what is behind the deluge of synthetic audio coming our way. What are they after, and what do they think about AI slop? We sit down with some of the most prolific makers of AI-generated audio, looking for answers to these and other questions.
At the same time, Shell Game’s own AI podcast production process kicks into high gear. We get the first taste of our own attempts to make an AI-generated show that someone, anyone would actually listen to on purpose, more than once.
Coming soon in this newsletter we’ll have some additional stuff out of this episode, including all the AI-generated pilots that you’ll hear snippets of, and the full conversation of one of the central interviews in the show.
Upgrading my habits,
Evan
