If you've listened to Episode 2, you know that I set my AI voice agent loose on spammers and scammers, which I have to admit brought me no small amount of joy. And as with the customer service episode, I thought it would be fun for you to hear a full call of it seeming to enjoy its conversations with one of them. (When the calls are several minutes long, it’s hard for us to fit in the whole thing in the episode.)
Today’s bonus call is with someone hawking a “home warranty” that could in theory be real—such things do exist, although even when real they can often be pure rip-offs. Regardless, though, a telemarketing call selling anything from an unknown company is almost certainly illegal, whether the product itself is real or not. In this case, this outfit called my dedicated spam/scam line—the number I set up for my voice agent and then put out there on the web for spammers and scammers to find—got cut off the first time, and my AI called them back. That’s what you’re hearing here.
